since it's been about two weeks since the party, some have questioned my ability to write about it. indeed some have even gone so far as to claim i can hardly remember a thing about it (other than having alot of sweet drinks). well here's my retort: neither can you.

so let us together reminiscence about the time when a group of mbcians got together to plan for the party of the sem, an event steeped in tradition and passed down from generation to generation since the 90s, mbc's networking party.

it isn't just a walk in the foyer. dinner needs to be ordered and transported from restaurant to campus, games need to be constructed (synchronizing the amazing race was a headache!), prizes need to be bought and wrapped, people need to be told what to do and when to do it, and a whole lot of other stuff like inviting friends and doing ticketing all contributed to making the party a success.

all the planning doesn't compare to the actual event though. that's when things tend to happen a little out of the plan. would you believe, the first game was unplanned? some of you may have recognized that game we played during the pangkor trip last year - blow wind, blow. well it made a comeback because all you guys were clustered up and we needed to mix things up a little see?

oh yes! congrats to those who won during the lucky draw! just for those who are wondering, the prizes were an mbc 'bill them all' t-shirt, a discount for the redang trip, and some monash merchandise from the shop! heheh, like highlighters, keychains, those kinda stuff.

well soon after, that balloon stomping game ensued. note to self: games like these need boundaries! some groups fled the scene, balloons bobbing at ankles, and hid behind the scenery. but nevermind, it got you guys stretched and all geared up for the following game - running necessary - the amazing race.

i didn't know we had to pass the straws mouth to mouth. i thought it was just feeding the gooey stuff in the straws to your partner by hand! well in any case it proves that parties like these help promote camaraderie among members. hohoho, peace and goodwill to all mankind!

after a little drink of mixed vegejuice, pepsi tarik, some kind of santan, and limejuice concentrate, the groups got their prizes and everyone posed for pictures. yes, i'm running out of things to say. oh but don't forget it was the committee who ended up having a whole bottle of limejuice concentrate. no water added. and yours truly attempted (bleh) to finish it all off. kids, don't try this at home. or anywhere else for that matter.

and there it is - monash business club's networking party of sem 1, 2006! oh the people there are the committee i think. well, some of them anyway. for those who participated thank you for making history with us, as part of the 90+ crowd who came, being the reddest, most tiring networking party ever!

ps. oh and sesshy, do add me to your msn or email me or something. whazoole@hotmail.com

Well well well...what have we here, since the moderator here went for something short and simple rather than long and detailed, (he let the pictures say it all duh..), or probably we wasnt even participating in the games either. thats y a short description is presented.

hehe...now for the detailed part from some outsider who participated in the party to boast out how much fun we had in the party (only for those who didn't went to the party) /gg < know what this is? find out in ragnarok :P

Hmm...how should I start, first I came late, so I didn't quite saw the full, yummy, tasty, rich in flavour and aroma, plain chicken and beef rendang with the aromatic, mouth watering, awesome, plain white nasi lemak as well as the tangy flavoured, juicy, a bit sweet flavoured, not warm but not too cold, of plain orange juice.

The meals are served with the finest branded sturdy plastic cutlery, on the finest, delicate piece of grooved, perfectly machine crafted paper plates.

fuh...this is an interesting one...only the food took so many paragraphs...

There was a partyload of people scattered all around 3.13 and 3.14. hot chicks and macho guys everywhere. Not me of course...I was merely the spectator, which is shown in the football advert you see on tv everyday...(see football in everything?)

the environment wouldnt lose to a simple plain rave party. it was awesome! :>

people were chatting and started to get warmed up, and suddenly, the opening ceremony of the new gleamy red MBC T shirt "BILL THEM ALL" commenced. The small twin Super woofers churned out heart-thumping music. And the cinematic projector projected a large screen view of the MBC's T shirt Advert, starring danny as the cool guy with MBC's Tshirt who won all the girls with the T shirt. Who knows? you can do that too!! BUY MBC T SHIRT!!@.@

Hmm...after all the laughs for the advert, the T shirt is finally shown, sold extremely dirt cheap at an attractive fancy price of RM20 each, it is perfectly suitable for your workwear, uniwear, clubbing wear, outing wear, sleepwear and other multipurpose uses. So buy one now and get one FREE*

*subject to terms and conditions at the end of this blog.

ok after a few flashes of photos, its the end of mbc t shirt ceremony. Next are the games....

first thing first, everyone gets into a circle and played blow wind blow. so basically a person standing in the center says "blow wind blow", we all say, "blow what?", then he says, "Blow...JOB!" .....Hey... I was saying blowing someone named "Job" ok? there are many ppl in the US whose names are Job.

Hmm, where did I stopped? See! your crooked thinking had delayed other people's desperation to continue reading this post. Now move on.

So the round went with people with caps, shorts, skirts, long haired...I wonder why those long haired especially girls jumped up suddenly upon hearing this. Im sure that Jin Tian haven't finish his sentence "blow persons with long hair... at thier armpits!!" Hahaha...just joking duh!! :P

so after the rounds of blow wind blow, the next is the MBC legacy, Picture puzzle game, which groups the whole bunch of monkeys into 6 groups of people. there are the ice age, erm...er...er...er...and the 5 other groups, (I CANT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT IS THE NAME OF MY GROUP!!! Moderator Please follow up on this!!)

And the groups. well, lets make it group 1 to 6. Hmm...I was allocated to some group, and some other people are allocated to some groups as well. What am I talking about??!! Cut the crap, ok now we are groups. My group is the 1st to find all of our team members. ok My group 1st place.

Ok next! balloons balloons and balloons. Blow balloons and tie on two ankles. Objective 1: attack on other group's balloons with a weapon called the leg. Objective 2: defend your own group's balloon by any means possible.

Well, after much time of discussing, our group had managed to intergrate the ancient art of ninpo or so called ninja's camoflauge skills into the 3.14 and 3.13's background. POOF!! we disappeared. That means we all had preserved our balloons. while looking at the rest of them popping each other balloons.

Well, we got 1st again though...although much of the "sun zi bing fa" or so called "sun zi: art of war" planning is being called a chicken in the end.

hmm...after that, here comes the amazing race. "Music starts" Groups are given a plain brown envelope where the clues are placed inside. Each team has to solve each clue before the other teams in order to get to the next checkpoint.

Now each teams are handed an envelope, and every teams ran off in search of the other clues....

1st checkpoint:
"oh my god...I don't want to do this..."
"I'm afraid of heights!!! (cries)"
"Ahh!!!"
and one team member from some group roped down from the 6th floor to the lower ground floor of the monash building.

Note: all these are supervised by experts. Please do not try this at home.

I hope the amazing race would be this exciting, but well, no experts are around so it's just...

"toilets, anyone?"
(Stressed out) "Where is that f****** straw??!!!"
"Are pigeon holes for pigoens?"
"Am I going to kiss him/her? taste sweet though"
"omg...i must sue MBC for my torn pants!!"
"oh shit..someone's looking at me dancing"

well, our team came back 2nd. Although some teams came back unfinished, and not happy, but the issue is finally settled by the macho man, danny, by showing his macho style with the MBC t-shirts which pleased all the girls. Smokin~~

Now's the time for the fear factor. Each group is given unknown bottles of unknown liquids inside to drink. I also forgotten whats the exact formulae of the liquids. Heard it is some fresh from the toilet stuff and a bit of washing detergent and bleach perhaps...

But who cares? we drank it ALL!!!!

alas...we got 2nd...although we won 1st 1st 2nd...:( why why why???

The party finished at around 10- 11. The usual members sat around , took photos and sang "dui mian de nu hai kan guo lai"~~ everyone's exhausted...but no doubt it was fun....

Some words from an MBC ex-member:

Although departed from MBC, It was memorable to watch uni people having fun, running around, chatting, smiling, feeling shy, etc etc....Even though not in the preparation of the party, I can feel the pressure, the excitement, the stress, the fun, and the grouping that the MBC committees had. Maybe you guys can only appreciate the feeling after you had graduated, only coming back to feel this kind of uni fun again. I know that there are assignments and exams to face in uni, but in exchange for these fun? Its very very very and very worth the price. Although I sometimes personally feel that assignments and exams are fun too :) All the best in assignment and exams!!!

MBC ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, the 'fled the scene' was part of my group's strategy? xD
Let others slog it out while we keep safe from behind.
Though we had ambushes...
